Meet Tammi

Tammi Van Hollander, LCSW, RPT-S, RST-C/T, is an internationally recognized speaker, psychotherapist, author, educator, and founder of Main Line Play Therapy. With more than 30 years of experience, she helps children, families, educators, therapists, and organizations discover the power of connection, creativity, and play to foster resilience, growth, and healing.

Grounded in neuroscience, attachment, creativity, and human connection, Tammi believes that every behavior has meaning. Her work helps people move beyond judgment and toward curiosity, creating opportunities for deeper understanding, stronger relationships, and lasting change. Through storytelling, experiential learning, play, movement, and creative expression, she inspires individuals and organizations to see themselves—and each other—through a new lens.

An internationally sought-after speaker, trainer, and consultant, Tammi has presented throughout the United States and around the world. In 2023, she delivered her TEDx Talk, Stories in the Sand: Healing Trauma, Anxiety, and Grief. She served as a keynote speaker at the inaugural Association for Play Therapy Conference in Kenya. Tammi also contributed to the growth of sandtray therapy internationally by co-teaching one of the first sandtray therapy trainings offered to professionals in China.

In addition to her clinical and international training work, Tammi has been contracted by school districts to provide professional development, consultation, training, and ongoing supervision for school-based mental health professionals. She has developed and led comprehensive training programs designed to support clinicians in integrating play therapy, sandtray therapy, attachment theory, neuroscience, and trauma-informed practices into their work with children and families. Through this work, she is helping cultivate the next generation of skilled, relationship-focused therapists while strengthening the mental health supports available within educational communities.

Tammi is the author of Casey's Greatness Wings, The Bibliotherapy Toolbox: 100+ Creative and Playful Story-Based Interventions to Help Kids Create Safety, Overcome Challenges, and Build Resiliency, and The Loving Stop Sign: A Story About Connection, Not Correction. She is also the creator of Greatness Sticks®, Greatness Cards®, and The Loving Stop Sign™, innovative tools designed to strengthen connection, emotional wellness, and resilience.

A founding board member of the World Association for Sand Therapy Professionals (WASTP), Tammi remains committed to advancing ethical, creative, and relationship-based approaches to healing and learning around the world.

Whether she is working with children and families, training professionals, consulting with organizations, supervising clinicians, or speaking to audiences around the globe, her mission remains the same: to help people move beyond judgment, embrace curiosity, strengthen connection, and discover new possibilities for growth, healing, and transformation.
